There are a few different types of cameras that can be used for home security. Some cameras are used for outdoor home security and some cameras are used for home security inside. No matter what type of package you decide on you should look at the different benefits each one provides. Of course when we are looking for security cameras we will first look at cheap security cameras  (inexpensive) before high priced ones.

Some benefits you should look at are visual distance, resolution and field of view. These are all important features when choosing the right camera. Also a good thing to look for is ease of installation of the unit. Many cheap security cameras are easy to install and don’t require professional personnel.

svat1Many times a fake security camera such as the SVAT ISC200 Outdoor Imitation Security Camera with Blinking LED which looks like a real camera but is just an outside casing of a camera. This could be all you need to deter a burglary in your home if that’s all you can afford. If you decide not to go with the fake camera and decide to use a real one make sure at a minimum the camera can provide good outside home security with features such as live feeds over the internet so you can watch your home from other locations.

Where you may suffer with a cheap security camera is in picture resolution. Unlike older security cameras you don’t have to pay for a high resolution unit but the higher the resolution usually the higher the price. Other options not usually found on inexpensive cameras are high-end options such as night vision, infrared capability and motion detectors. These options will cost you more.

To sum it up, when buying a camera for home security you get what you pay for but what you pay for may be better than you think.
